Ashes to ashes ... Dust to dust. One more blog

Merry Christmas to you all.  Today marked a significant milestone in Christine’s journey.  Karl & Gretchen, Paul and Catie, and Todd gathered by the Clark Fork River in Missoula, Montana to commit Christine’s ashes to the deep.

It was a beautiful, crisp and slightly overcast day.  Karl began with a song and prayer; Catie and Gretchen read scripture; Todd commended her remains to the Lord; we prayed the Lord’s pray and Paul provided the blessing and closing prayer.  Simple, family, spiritual.  Just as Christine would have wanted it.

We post this now because so many of you have played a significant role in her life - or have been moved and touched by her life.  If you followed her story at all, you know that she was passionate about her faith and concerned about communicating the Love of God to many.

If you watched her memorial service you will remember that it all pointed to Jesus.

“Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?”
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:55-57

So Merry Christmas from Christine.  This was her favorite time of year.  She would desire that every one of you spend some time reflecting on the goodness of the babe in Bethlehem who came to this earth to live and die for you.

Christmas is a great time of family, food, presents, laughter and traditions.  But during the busyness of it all, don’t forget the reason for all the activities.  We don’t celebrate the traditions, but the One who started it all - who we have been celebrating for over 2,000 years.  She would hope and pray that you would take a few minutes out of the hustle and bustle of life to attend church and celebrate Jesus.

During advent, we not only remember and prepare for His birth ... but we think and ponder about His second coming.  So come Lord Jesus, come.  And none of us would be disappointed if you returned today.

Merry Christmas to you all and blessings on your Silent Night.

Thanks for Checkin in
on behalf of Christine ...

Silent night, holy night
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon Virgin, Mother and Child
Holy infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace

Christ, the Savior is born!
